About Liberty Motorsports
Liberty Motorsports was founded by its principal Jim Liberty in 1986 to engage in Vintage Porsche Restoration, Concourse Preparation, Vintage Racing and appraisals. His love of the 356 began at his dad’s restoration shop in the late 50's. Porsche’s were new cars then, as well as his dad’s specialty.
Racing was short lived with the SVRA and run on East coast tracks, i.e.; Watkins Glen, Pocono, and Summit Point. Ultimately Jim’s interest turned to restoration and the Show Car circuit. Jim's involvement in the hobby over the past four plus decades include President PCA Niagara Region, New York, President 356 Club of Southern California, Trustee Porsche 356 Registry, member Advisory Committee Porsche AG Vintage parts, and International involvement in many European Porsche 356 events.
Jim's career brought him to Orange County, CA in the late nineties. Subsequently he retired here and opened his one man "Boutique Hobby Shop" dedicating himself to restoring one Porsche 356 a year. These cars are all owned by Jim, as he does not engage in customer related work. Lack of space, occasionally leads to the necessity of selling a restored 356. None are advertised, "walk in" visits are the usual buyer. All work is performed in house except the final paint color shoot and upholstery. Those operations are performed by "friends" in the business. A look at "CURRENT INVENTORY" will reveal past and present cars in the works.
Stop by anytime to talk cars, raid the candy machine, or just look around. He is open most days from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM., but please call first to be sure he is home. 949-375-1888.
